This has been a big year for Locust Projects, a not-for-profit exhibition space for contemporary artists. In March, it moved out of the heart of the Design District to a nearby location at Miami Avenue and 38th Street that has three gallery spaces. “This is our largest space to date with 5,000 square feet,” says executive director Chana Sheldon. “Double the exhibition space means more opportunity for artists.” It also means Locust has a lot more space for its Smash and Grab fundraiser on Saturday, October 27, at which raffle-ticket holders are guaranteed to go home with one of more than 120 artworks.

Speakers willinclude an eyewitness to "Kristallnacht," as well as Andrew C. Hall, Esq., the first child survivor of the Holocaust to serve as chairmanof the Holocaust Memorial.
